Walter Craig is summoned to a British estate. The owner is a stranger to him, yet his face is familiar. So are the other guests. Gradually he recognizes them as the people who constantly recur in a dream which always ends in unspeakable horror. He is told other people's supernatural experiences and finally murders the psychiatrist who is trying to help him by providing scientific explanations.
Dead of night is considered to be the greatest horror anthology film. featuring five stories within the same movie from four writers (including H.G. Welles for the "Golfing story") and adapted by many well-known directors such as Charles Crichton (Lavender Hill Mob, A fish called Wanda...) and Hobert Hamer (Kind Hearts and Coronets).
