The body of a young girl (Laura Palmer) is washed up on a beach near the small Washington state town of Twin Peaks. The movie, also known as the "European Pilot," was commissioned as a "one off" project to be shown in European cinemas in the event that the series wasn't picked up. This way, the production wouldn't be a loss.

Yes. However, if you watch this 113 minute version of the pilot and intend to watch the complete TV episodes, we suggest you stop watching immediately after the scene in which Sheriff Truman says "It must have happened about this time, 24 hours ago."
