Frontline (1981)

synopsis

David Bradbury's powerful and unforgettable Academy Award nominated masterpiece, Frontline, focuses on the horror and tragedy of the Vietnam War as seen through the eyes of Australian war correspondant Neil Davis.

Frontline forces us to remember the most horrific side of a war that was lost in the lounge rooms of middle America, and not on the battlefield. It remembers blood, maimed corpses, napalmed children, cold blooded executions and real frontline terror. The film examines the ethical issues facing a man in the frontline who is not an active combatant. Neil Davis discusses his experiences in the film and this, combined with the extensive footage shot by him and others, makes for a compelling, unique account of the Vietnam War.
