Based on the 1904 novel by Polish-born British novelist Joseph Conrad. South America in the 1880s. An ambitious young Englishman, Charles Gould, returns with his beautiful wife, Emilia, to his childhood home and the silver mine that claimed his father's life. Politics are volatile but Gould takes advantage of a brief lull in hostilities to re-open his mine.
Corruption, conspiracy and revolution become rife as the politics of the local community heave under the temptation created by new wealth. Gould becomes obsessed with saving the mine, but there is only one man who he can trust: Nostromo.
