It's 1834. France is being ravaged by a vicious cholera epidemic. Whole towns are quarantined, and suspicious locals regularly lynch travellers. Pauline, a beautiful young noblewoman, is trapped and unable to return home. She meets Angelo, a handsome hussar who is on the run from Austrian polictical assassins, and they are immediately attracted. Together they set off on a gripping odyssey of dander, romance, captivity, betrayal, violence, sexual tension and thrilling adventure.
