Noel Coward - Private Lives & Biographical Film (2 tape set)

synopsis

- PRIVATE LIVES It is the first night of Amanda's honeymoon and everything is perfect: the view is breathtaking, cocktails are on the way and someone is singing a love song. Unfortunately, that "someone" is her ex-husband, Elyot, and he is also on honeymoon - in the neighbouring hotel room... - BIOGRAPHICAL FILM A fascinating film documenting Noel Coward's life: from early success as a child actor, meteoric rise as a playwright and performer in the 1920s and '30s, through to the post-war years which saw competition from the "angry young man" school of theatre. With footage from his performances as well as interviews with those who knew him best, the film shows how removed the real Noel Coward was from the public image. Far from being upper class, decadent lady-killer, he was a hard working self-made man who maintained a discrete private life. A true legend in his lifetime, Noel Coward really was his own best invention.
