An original, offbeat and very funny comedy, Me And You And Everyone We Know is the directorial feature debut of celebrated performance artist, author, actress and writer-director Miranda July. Richard (John Hawes) is a shoe salesman with two boys and a failed marriage. Now single, he expects great things from his newfound freedom. But his hopes and dreams take an alarming twist when a chance encounter with Christine (Miranda July), a lonely artist and cab driver, triggers a stop-start affair that neither is quite sure how to handle. Life is no less complicated for Richard's two young sons. Seven-year-old Robby (Brandon Ratcliff) is growing up way too fast and has recently become embroiled in a risque internet romance with a stranger, while his teenage brother, Peter (Miles Thompson), has become a reluctant fantasy figure and sexual guinea pig for a group of adolescent neighbourhood girls.

What a treat this slow gentle film is. Quietly jabs a pin in the balloon of moral panic around kids sexuality and relationships with parents and other adults without risking licentiousness. Be ready to be attentive in an undivided way. This one is a very slow burn. Kinda looks like a chick flick to start and then unfolds like a classy piece of home-made craft work. You wont ever look at art curators in quite the same way again.

Perhaps it was the lead actors, maybe the foul concepts uttered by kids. Could not finish this.

Whilst the sexuality of the kids is a little confronting to begin with the film is fun and quirky and well worth looking at,
