Mysterious Skin

synopsis

When they were eight, Brian (Brady Corbett) and Neil (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) experience events that still greatly affect them ten years later. For one, he’s left with nightmares and is convinced he was abducted by aliens and is determined to find out where they came from. For the other he seeks out the love he once felt for the football coach who seduced him. When the boys reunite, they discover that their lives have been shaped by the same events. Gregg Araki’s acclaimed Mysterious Skin is a beautifully lyrical but poignant drama which demonstrates a new found maturity from his earlier edgy independent work.
