The Work of Director - Spike Jonze

synopsis

Spike Jonze is most widely known as the director of Being John Malkovich (which garnered three Academy Award nominations) and Adaptation. A pioneer in the world of music videos, he was for many years better known as an award-winning music video, short film and commercial director. He began as a photographer and co-directed the skate video Blind Video Days with Mark Gonzales. Spike's direction of the Beastie Boys' Sabotage video (1994 - parodying the '70s TV cop genre), received critical acclaim and numerous awards. Ever since, Jonze' videos have regularly been nominated for MTV VMAs. In fact, Spike directed Fatboy Slim's Praise You, which was named the best video of all time by MTV voters. Similarly lauded are several of his other videos, including Sabotage, Weezer's Buddy Holly, Daft Punk's Da Funk, Bjork's It's Oh So Quiet and Fatboy Slim's Weapon Of Choice. Spike has also worked with such talented artists as The Pharcyde, R.E.M., Notorious B.I.G, and The Chemical Brothers. This compilation treats you to a definitive collection of the mastery of the one and only Spike Jonze.
