Historic archive footage of Jimi's performance at the Monterey Pop Festival, California, in 1967. Tracks featured are 'Wild Thing', 'Killing Floor', 'Foxy Lady', 'Like A Rolling Stone', 'Rock Me Baby', 'Purple Haze', 'Hey Joe' and 'The Wind Cries Mary.' The DVD soundtrack features a new 5.1 surround and 2.0 stereo mixes by Eddie Kramer, Jimi’s original engineer. As an extra special bonus to the DVD, watch the earliest known film and sound recordings of The Jimi Hendrix Experience in concert from February 25, 1967 before a packed audience in Chelmsford, England. Songs featured are "Stone Free" and "Like A Rolling Stone." "Jimi Plays Monterey" and "Shake! Otis at Monterey" New high-definition digital transfers, supervised by D.A. Pennebaker. Two audio commentaries on Shake! by music critic and historian Peter Guralnick: the first on Otis Redding's Monterey performance, song by song; the second on Redding before and after Monterey.
