Sir David Frost's legendary 28 hour interview with former U.S. President Richard M. Nixon remains the greatest political interview ever recorded, and has been immortalized in the Oscar nominated film Frost-Nixon. Watched by nearly 50 million viewers in the US when originally broadcast in May of 1977, here finally is the entire 80 Min final interview that focused solely on Watergate. Never before, nor since, has a U.S. President been so candid on camera. Even more intriguing is the fact that Nixon agreed to appear on camera with no pre-interview preparation or screening of questions, to be delivered by a supposed journalistic lightweight. This program also contains new footage with Sir David Frost shot in 2007 discussing the historical impact of the interview along with his reactions of their famous encounter. Frost also discusses his view on Peter Morgan's interpretation and screenplay adaptation of this historical event

Worth watching this original interview and the DVD's extra features, once you've seen the recent movie, "Frost Nixon". See that first!
Nixon appears as a dignified, reasonable person, an expert communicator. He was obviously a President who had huge potential, tragically cut down by his own character flaws.
