Identification Of A Woman

synopsis

Niccolo needs a female for his next film project, but his ideas for both project and protagonist are somewhat vague. As his relationship with his girlfriend dissolves – she leaves him to move in with another woman – he embarks on an affair with a young actress, but she, too, eventually eludes him. His physical union with his lovers is shown to be no more than that – simply physical, while his desertion by these two women in his life echoes his search for two other female characters – one a muse, and the other a character for his as yet unwritten film.

Identification Of A Woman may describe Niccolo's search for his ideal Woman, but it is the search for an identity for a man – Niccolo – which drives this film to its poignant conclusion.
