Dennis (Hywel Bennett) and Hal (Roy Holder) are inseparable. They are also irreverent, boisterous, highly sexed and eager to acquire a fortune by the most expedient method...robbery. The only problem is that they have to hide their loot. Fortunately Dennis works as an undertaker, so a coffin seems like the perfect place to hide it in. But the moment that they try to fit the loot and a stiff in to a coffin things start to go wrong... and soon the boys have trouble on their hands in the shape of a gold digging nurse and the dreaded Inspector Truscott (Richard Attenborough).
