Fausto, the leader of a gang of shiftless young men in a small Italian seaside town, is forced by his father to marry a local girl after it is discovered she is pregnant. Irrespective of his predicament Fausto and his friends persist in their daily slothful rituals. All the while Fausto continues to be unfaithful to his wife who apparently suspects nothing.
