The Master Of Ballantrae*

synopsis

This Robert Louis Stevenson classic is set in Britain in 1745. Two young brothers, Henry (Richard Thomas) and James Durie (Michael York), are feuding over which one of them will be the first to join Prince Charles and the Jacobite Rebellion as well as who should be receiving the favours of their beautiful cousin Alison (Finola Hughes). The two of them are caught up in adventures that lead them from the Scottish Highlands to the violent world of Captain Teach (Brian Blessed), and on to the wilds of North America. This epic swashbuckling adventure boasts some spectacular duelling and sea battles, capturing the desperation and daring of an age long past.
