Screaming and abrasive as safety pins on a blackboard, "Sid and Nancy" chronicles the sordid lives of two of punk's most notorious poster children, Sex Pistols bassist Sid Vicious and his junkie girlfriend Nancy Spungen, brilliantly performed by Gary Oldman and Chloe Webb. Director Alex Cox subtitled his film "a love story," and, remarkably, a bizarre tenderness balances this bleak vision of the late '70s punk scene.
