Andri is a rich Indonesian boy with impeccable connections and the not unreasonable hope that he may be president of the country someday. It happens that he has made friends with a very poor boy about his own age, Gempol. When Gempol's shanty home is demolished in a slum-clearance project, the two boys take off into the countryside to find the poor boy's grandparents and ensure that they take proper responsibility for his family.
