Aileen: Life & Death of a Serial Killer:
This is the must-see documentary of Aileen Wuornos, a highway prostitute who was executed in 2002 for killing seven men in Florida. This film, made in 2002, investigates her childhood and mental state leading up to the murders and culminates with her final interview, before her execution on October 9, 2002.
The Selling of a Serial Killer:
This documentary raises a number of questions about official corruption - whether in fact Aileen is a serial killer at all - or if that label is just a commercial means of selling Aileen Wuornos and her story. Aileen's lawyer, her born again Christian mother and the Florida state police had all been involved in trying to sell her story, the story of America's first female serial killer, to the highest bidder.
Also the subject of the 2003 feature film "Monster" with Academy Award winning actress Charlize Theron in the role of Aileen Wournos.
