On April 21st, 1918, a Canadian pilot named Roy Brown turned his guns on a red albatross triplane in the skies over occupied France and blasted its owner from the skies forever. The triplane's occupant was the aristocratic Manfred Von Richthofen known as the Red Baron, the legendary German national hero, and his death proved to be the turning point in the character of modern warfare.
Brown's action ended the concept of glory and honour on the aerial battlefield and replaced it with the reality of war as a dirty, killing business.
From cult director Roger Corman comes the intriguing clash of two men with conflicting ideologies which culminated in the historic death of aviation's greatest fighter pilot. The Red Baron, a 'Gentleman warrior of the skies', who fought with chivalry and was prepared to die with matching aplomb. And Brown, who thought such manners were absurd and rebelled the only way he knew how- to kill the enemy as quickly and efficiently as possible.
