Blending political allegory, black humour and touching romance, Argentinian director Alejandro Agresti's third feature provides a fascinating insight into the problems facing the “disappeared”, who, having survived imprisonment under the junta, were released back into society with the restoration of democracy. From the moment we find him naked on the streets of Buenos Aires, Tito Haas dominates the action, whether coming to terms with the years he has lost, attempting to win back the love of Mirtha Busnelli (who no longer recognises him) or coping with the suspicions of his new neighbours. Ricardo Rodriguez's photography is superb, complementing the unusual camera angles favoured by Agresti.
