The year is 1936 and Rafael is a sixteen year old son of a Spanish nobleman. His father, a senior officer in the pro-Franco ranks decides that his son, heir to a family traditionally dedicated to the army, should "do his duty". Before going to the front, Rafael is placed in a unit under the command of Colonel Masagual, a cynical and derisive character who has made a profession of war. While Masagual takes charge of Raphael's military training, the beautiful Celia, an English nurse, concentrates on his sentimental education.
Fiesta is about the parallel evolution of two individuals; a young man growing from gilded carefree adolescence into a killer and a middle-aged man, flamboyant and darkly humorous, bored by everything except war.
