Sam (Hugh Laurie - Stuart Little) and Lucy (Joely Richardson - Event Horizon) are two smart, sexy professionals who wish to add the pitter patter of tiny feet to their lives. Commencing a rigorous bonking schedule, it's soon apparent that despite aromatherapy, and sex on the leylines of Primrose Hill, that Sam and Lucy are having problems. After sperm tests, and all manner of nasty probing, they embark on an IVF program. Sam - a BBC exec with a nasty case of writers block - discovers Lucy's diary and can't resist recreating her stories for a feature film script about an infertile couple, directed by the odious Ewan Proclaimer (Tom Hollander - Bedrooms and Hallways). Lucy, meanwhile, is tempted by tasty thespian Carl (James Purefoy - Bedrooms and Hallways). What Sam and Lucy go through is absolutely inconceivable ....will their marriage hold and love conquer all? And if their love survives will there be three of them to share it?
