Peter Appleton (Jim Carrey) has just celebrated the opening of his first produced script when the House UnAmerican Activities Committee suddenly accuses him of being a Communist sympathizer and call him to testify. After an all night drive up the California coast, he crashes his car, develops amnesia and finds himself in the small town of Lawson, where his appearance touches the hearts of many of the local residents. The Majestic is an unplifting drama from Frank Darabont, writer/director of The Green Mile and The Shawshank Redemption.
