The Luzhin Defence

synopsis

Alexander Luzhin is an eccentric chess master whose unstable childhood made him incapable of relating to others. The game of chess is his only escape and his only solace, until he meets and falls in love with the caring Natalia at the Italian resort where he's the favorite in the most prestiigous chess championship in the country. However, when a former mentor turned jealous saboteur tries to destroy Luzhin, the fragile genius may lose more than the big game.
