Clive Owen plays advertising executive and family man Charles Schine who meets Jennifer Aniston's business woman, Lucinda, on the commuter train to work. Their early flirtations soon escalate into a magnetic attraction, despite both having families. Lunch dates quickly become cocktails after work and before long their infatuation leads them to a hotel room. Their affair takes a turn for the worst when a violent criminal holds them to gunpoint and promises to reveal their indiscretion and threaten the well being of their families, if they do not pay him. Charles' life soon becomes filled with lies, crime and violence. Unable to confide in his wife or speak to the police, Charles finds himself trapped in a world he doesn't recognise.
