In the second installment of Lars von Trier's surreal tour-de-force, everything at The Kingdom is as bizarre and fantastic as when we left. Swedish neurosurgeon Stig Helmer returns from Haiti to be hit with a malpractice suit over his botched brain operation on poor little Mona, while the spirits and demons seem to be battling for control of their haunting place. The grotesque newborn baby is growing at an astonding pace, and Professor Bondo seems to have found a way to implant the cancer he desires. Co-directed by Morten Arnfred, the international cult hit The Kingdom was remade by Stephen King as Kingdom Hospital for American television.
