It is 1946: apartheid is still two years away, yet gross inequalitites are already well established. Against this backdrop, a Christian minister leaves his church in Zululand and heads for crime-ridden Johannesburg. There he locates his estranged son, Absalom, who is caught in a vicious circle of violence and injustice.
Ultimately, Absalom will commit an act which will pit white and black men against one another in a powerful showdown of emotions.
