Rich Man, Poor Man (Disc 1 of 3)

synopsis

The small screen adaptation of Irwin Shaw’s best-selling 1970s novel Rich Man, Poor Man was an epic television event, the first-ever blockbuster miniseries and a huge ratings hit when screened in Australia in the late 70s. Winning 4 Emmys and 4 Golden Globes, and with a stellar ensemble cast including Nick Nolte, Susan Blakely, Peter Strauss and Ed Asner, Rich Man, Poor Man recounts the lives of immigrant brothers Rudy (Strauss) and Tom (Nolte) Jordache for two decades following WWI. One will gain great wealth and power, the other will struggle through life as a boxer and gangster thug; but both continue an epic struggle to gain the love of Julie Prescott (Susan Blakely).
