The Kids Are All Right

synopsis

It's all about family. The critically acclaimed The Kids Are All Right combines wonderful comedy with warm-hearted emotion in a vibrant and richly drawn portrait of a modern family.

The Allgoods share a cosy Southern Californian home, experiencing life's typical ups and downs. Eighteen-year-old daughter Joni (Australia's Mia Wasikowska: Alice In Wonderland) is heading off to Stanford University and starting to distance herself from her parents; fourteen-year-old Laser (Josh Hutcherson: Journey To The Centre Of The Earth) is hanging out with a deadbeat friend who constantly leads him into trouble.

The only difference is, this family has two mums. Jules (Julian Moore: A Single Man, Far From Heaven) and Nic (Annette Bening: Mother And Child, American Beauty) have been together for years, deeply in love. When their two children decide to seek out their biological donor-Dad, Paul (Mark Ruffalo: Shutter Island), the household will never be the same again. Paul is a bachelor whose sudden longing for a family introduces an interesting dynamic to the not-quite-ordinary equation of the Allgoods.

Funny, smart and sexy, this pitch-perfect film features brilliant performances from its acclaimed cast with The Kids Are All Right proving to be an independent breakout hit.
