Clint Easwood stars as Red Stovall, a man whose musical talents are offset by his drinking; bound for Nashville, Tennessee and a shot at the Grand Ole Oprey. Red is accompanied by his 14 year old nephew Whit (played by Clint's son Kyle Eastwood), who is his chauffeur and guardian, making sure he remains sober and ready to perform.
