A patchy but likeable comedy from Altman, which compensates for its shortcomings with a quality cast. Goldblum heads the list as the bisexual Bruce, who finds himself in an unexpected love triangle with his partner Bob (Guest) and the neurotic Prudence (Hagerty). Meanwhile Conti and Jackson show up as a pair of sex therapists whose advice only sends everybody further off the rails. Set in New York, but curiously filmed in Paris, this is a wryly amusing piece that never quite tips into the all-out farce you hope for but offers plenty of colourful characters and setpieces.
