Peter Sellers stars as a lecherous old General in this whimsical British farce. General Fitzjohn is fond of pretty maidens, a failing that brings him his fair share of recrimination from his nagging wife (Margaret Leighton). What's more, there is one maiden fairer than the rest and for whom he will go to any lengths. Her name is Ghislaine (Dany Robin), a girl who is also being pursued by a younger man... someone the General knows only too well!
