Drifter Frank Chambers (Jack Nicholson), is headed nowhere. Then he drifts into a job at a roadside diner and sees his boss’ alluring young wife Cora (Jessica Lange). They are both compelled by agonising passions they can neither control or completely understand, to become lovers with savage intensity. Now Frank and Cora have a goal in life: to be together.
