Two Way Stretch / Only Two Can Play

synopsis

'Two Way Stretch' - Peter Sellers and his cell-mates Bernard Cribbins and David Lodge, are enjoying the holiday atmosphere at Huntleigh prison, planning the perfect diamond robbery. If they can escape the day before their release and then break back in again afterwards, the three can leave jail not only with the loot but also with the perfect alibi. What could possibly go wrong? Everything – in an uproarious farce packed, with a host of British comedy talent. 'Only Two Can Play' - The pains, pitfalls and pleasures of life as a local librarian are depicted in another ingenious Sellers performance. Desperate to escape from his hum-drum existence, John Lewis grasps at temporary relief offered in the form of an affair with a local businessman's wife. The result is sophisticated slapstick of the funniest kind fused with a sharp satirical portrayal of provincial life in sparkling Ealing tradition.
